The #1 Strategy to Skyrocket Your Business
The #1 Strategy to skyrocket your business…
Okay, I might have been dramatic with that title! There isn't just one strategy. But that title made you check huh?
The reality is there are LOTS of proven strategies to grow your business. And it really doesn't matter which one you pick - as long as it is one that you can execute. What sets a successful business apart, is EXECUTION of the strategy. You have to be able to follow through with your plan.
When we are talking about strategy, there are 4 places I see coaches getting stuck…
This is where most coaches get stuck with their business:
1. They get sucked in by shiny-object syndrome.
Shiny-object syndrome is when you jump from one new idea to the next. You see your favorite biz coach on Instagram suggest some new trend and you just HAVE to jump on it. You might rationalize the quick changes by saying that you're trendy, or you're agile in your business, but the truth is you just don't believe in your initial business strategy. If your brand and business require you to be up-to-date on the latest social media changes (maybe you are a social media coach) guess what... you can actually build this into your strategy!
If your brand and business don't rely on you being the first person to let their audience know about the newest algorithm update - so this means like 99% of you reading this - then no hopping on each new thing! Create a plan. Stick to the plan.
2. They never learn to say “No” to good ideas that are not currently part of their plan.
This goes hand in hand with those shiny objects. The hardest part of marketing is saying "No" to good ideas. The "No" doesn't need to be a forever "No," but you need to realize that you are a finite resource. You can only do so much. So instead of trying to do all the good ideas - pick a couple and do them REALLY REALLY well.
3. They forget to be the tortoise: patience and persistence will win the race.
Everyone wants to be the overnight success. So they give themself a timeline and then have a total breakdown when they haven't made a million dollars in 3 months. Pace yourself. If you truly want to be a forever coach, you will want to create a sustainable business that is growing. This may take some time. And all those "overnight successes?" most of them have YEARS of work behind them before they became a success. So do the work. Enjoy the process.
4. They are too quick to give up and rewrite their plan instead of learning to fail forward.
Always finish your plan. I recommend making a 30, 60, or 90 day plan and reviewing as you go. The simplest thing you can do is ask yourself 3 questions: What is working? What is NOT working? What do I need to do differently?
30, 60, or 90 day plans give you enough time to fully execute your plan and at the same time not get stuck in a plan that doesn't work for too long. This allow you to actually figure out what is working and what is not working really quickly. And guess what, when you follow through and figure out what works and what doesn't, it's really easy to make changes, learn quickly, and improve. This constant improvement will get you where you want to be in no time!
And finally, THE SECRET INGREDIENT:
Unwavering belief in what is possible for you.
Whatever your goal is, you CAN accomplish it. It won't just fall from the sky into your lap - you're going to have to do some work. Keep that goal or vision in sight and don't stop until you get there.
